The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2019 governorship election in Lagos State , Dr Obafemi Hamzat says their administration will strive to keep Lagos State clean again if voted into office.
Dr. Hamzat who was a guest on The Daily Report on the 2nd of January said their administration recognised the huge role being played by the Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA.
He noted that LAWMA had the technical expertise and manpower to manage a population of about 20 million people generating close to 13 million metric tonnes of waste.
Dr Hamzat who was a former Commissioner for works in the state also stressed that one of their priorities would centre on decongestion of traffic in parts of the state.
He disclosed that they had identified 51 traffic bottlenecks in parts of the metropolis hence installation of more traffic lights, adding or removing roundabouts where necessary as well as road expansion.
Hamzat who is the running mate of Babajide Sanwoolu added that both rail and water transportation will be given adequate attention if elected into office.
Dr Hamzat also debunked suggestions that himself and the flagbearer of the party in Lagos State were handpicked by a certain godfather but were rather elected by members of the party in the state.
