Buhari and Atiku absent at the BON/NEDG Presidential Debate

The much publicized debate organized by BON and the NEDG kicked off at 7pm with the foremost candidates, Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP conspicuously absent.

Only three of the five candidates scheduled for the debate showed up, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili of the ACPN, Fela Durotoye of the ANN and Prof. kingsley Moghalu of the YPP took questions from the moderator, giving insights into how they would tackle issues in the various sectors in the country!

Reacting to the absence of the candidates of the APC and the PDP, Prof Moghalu said it is simply a case of failure because they cannot answer the questions that Nigerians are asking.

Dr Oby Ezekwesili maintained that by not appearing for the debate, Buhari and Atiku had “announced their exit from governance”. Fela Durotoye on his part said “the future is here and old things have passed away”.

There are unconfirmed reports about a press release saying that the candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar arrived the venue of the debate but did not appear because the APC candidate Muhmmadu Buhari was not available for the Presidential Debate.
