SOUTH WEST GOVERNORS PLAN SUMMIT TO ADDRESS GROWING TIDE OF INSECURITY

The Governors of the south west zone have decided to hold a regional security summit that will bring all critical stakeholders together to brainstorm on how to stem the tide of the spate of insecurity in the region.

Ondo state Governor Rotimi Akeredolu after a special meeting at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja on Friday, said the DAWN Commission has been directed to coordinate the summit aimed at promoting the developmental agenda of the South West region.

He stated that a consulting firm, KPMG has been appointed to review the tenure of the Group Managing Director of Oodua Investment Company, which has all the Southwest State Govenments as shareholders.

A statement by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, Mr. Akeredolu was adopted as the chairman of the South West Governors’ Forum at that meeting which was attended by Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Oyo State Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde and Osun State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola.

The Forum agreed to reconvene at a later date for further deliberations.
