Lagos CP, Odumosu Reads Riot Act To Indolent Officers As The Year Winds Down

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu has re-emphasized the need for police officers and men in Lagos State to rise up to the security challenges in the state particular during the ember months.

CP Odumosu read riot act at the weekend to some of the policemen in the command who he observed had not been performing their statutory duties as expected after the Endsars violence that wreaked havoc in Lagos State.

The Police boss hit home the warning at a general security meeting with his management team, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Department at the State Command Headquarters, GRA, Ikeja. 

Odumosu noted that there is no reason or excuse for any policeman to be absent or indolent on duty. He further stated that the command will not condone any act of negligence, indolence and complacency from any police personnel.

He used the occasion of the meeting to warn the Area Commanders, DPOs and Heads of Department to henceforth book and declare any policeman who fails to report to duty a deserter. He ordered that such errant personnel be dealt with according to the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.

CP Odumosu also appealed to all and sundry to support the police and collectively fight crimes and criminality in the state.
